More info

Zpacks Pivot Solo Lite Tent - is the ultimate ultralight shelter for solo adventurers who refuse to compromise on space, durability, or features.

The Pivot's unique design maximizes head and foot room by pivoting a second trekking pole to the rear corner creating a spacious interior that fits a wide, long sleeping pad with room left over for gear.

Available in two different Dyneema® Composite Fabric canopy and floor weights:

"Lite" version features .55 oz/sqyd DCF canopy, .75 oz/sqyd DCF floor, and 1.3 mm guy lines.
"Standard" version .75 oz/sqyd DCF canopy, 1 oz/sqyd DCF floor, and 2mm guy lines.

SET-UP

Tent sets up with a trekking pole or tent pole adjusted to around 132 cm (52") at the peak and one adjusted to 81 cm (32") at the right rear corner of the tent.
If you do not use trekking poles, we have tent poles available here.

The 52” pole is offset towards the head end of the tent creating a wide entryway with an L shaped zipper that drapes to help stop mosquitoes from chasing you into the tent. The offset pole also creates a steeper wall with additional head or foot room.

The 32” pole at the at the right rear corner of the tent further expands the internal volume of the Pivot Solo creating a tremendous amount of internal space. Taller hikers can have their head or feet right up against the screen wall without brushing condensation on the canopy. The second pole also helps brace the tent in the wind.

The tent package includes: guylines, sewn in linelocs, taped seams, and a Medium DCF Stuff Sack, 137 cm DCF repair tape strip and two spare zipper sliders.
6 to 8 Stakes are required but are not included. You can buy them here.

TOTAL WEIGHT:
383 g / 13.5 oz including guy lines, sewn in linelocs, and taped seams (blue and olive tent, spruce green weighs 447 g / 15.8 oz)

MATERIAL:
.55 oz/sqyd (blue, olive),  .75 oz/sqyd (spruce green) Standard Dyneema® Composite Fabric

Dyneema® Composite Fabric has several advantages over other materials:

  • High strength to weight ratio – the material can handle high wind force and does not tear easily.
  • Chemical free, PFC free
  • Waterproof – there is no DWR or coating to worry about wearing out. The material will not absorb significant water that will add water weight to your pack
  • Stretch-free – the tent will stay taut all night. Nylon material by comparison can stretch and sag, especially if it gets wet.
  • Taped seams – our seams are sewn for strength then taped water tight. The tie outs have bonded reinforcements for high strength. No seam sealing will be necessary!
  • Easily repairable – Any damage can easily be fixed in the field with our Dyneema® Composite Fabric Repair Tape.
  • This tent is semi-transparent. In bright sunlight, a fuzzy silhouette of a person sitting inside the tent would be visible, but you cannot see any details. It has a suitable amount of privacy for changing clothes.
  • In lower light (such as in the evening or at night), you cannot see through at all. Another nice thing about this material is that you can see the outlines of trees and your surroundings for a more immersed outdoor experience.
  • Dyneema® Composite Fabric is not a particularly noisy fabric; however, almost any tent will make a little noise in the wind. Earplugs are not a bad idea for windy nights.

FEATURES
The unique shape and pole configuration creates a ton of room and allows hikers to sleep in either direction depending on the slope of the ground. The large amount of usable space provides hikers with plenty of space to stretch out without hitting the walls are ceiling.
This tent has fully enclosed ultralight insect netting. The holes in the screen are super tiny and even the smallest insects can not get through.
6 stakes are required for this tent with 8 stakes recommended for a taught pitch in windy conditions. Stakes are not included but you can buy them here.
Small footprint allows you to squeeze into those hard to find backcountry flat spots, providing a decisive advantage over designs with larger footprints.
Pitches just 10 cm (4") off the ground which reduces drafts while still providing airflow around the perimeter.
The entry features zippered storm doors. Leave the larger downwind door open on a nice night for a breeze and great views or close both doors to block cold wind and provide 360 degree rain protection.
The large downwind door can be rolled up and out of the way with magnetic toggles.
There is screen between the bathtub floor and the walls around the perimeter of the tent. Adjustable cords keep the bathtub floor elevated ensuring the screen slopes downward away from the bathtub. Any condensation will run down the walls and out through the downward sloping screens.
The tarp overhangs the bathtub floor by a generous 18 cm (7 inches) all the way around to protect against splash-up and horizontal rain. In calm rain or under wet trees the downwind door can be left open for air flow without water dripping or falling into your living space.
The Pivot Solo features a peak vent to increase air flow and help reduce condensation when the storm doors are closed.
The entry features a wide L shaped zipper which gives you ample space to get in and out of the tent or to quickly access to the vestibule space. The L shape allows the screen door to drape across the entry and reduce the amount of mosquitoes and insects that follow you into the tent. The screen rolls up and can be secured with a dedicated magnet toggle.
This tent has a sewn in bathtub floor that is 214 cm (84”) long and measures 74 cm (29”) wide on the left end, 71 cm (28") wide on the right end, and 107 cm (42") wide at its deepest point. The bathtub floor has 15 cm (6") tall walls to keep you protected from groundwater or splash back.
The bathtub floor easily accommodates a wide and long pad, leaving plenty of space to stretch out with space left inside for your gear. Store your backpack and wet shoes in the spacious vestibule area under the storm door, or bring your backpack inside and stand it vertically against the rear pole to maximize floor space.
The floor includes integrated trekking pole flaps that allow you to pin down the floor with the tips of your trekking poles, or tent poles. This prevents the floor from blowing around, and also allows easy one-handed operation of the door zipper.
Inside you’ll find an integrated mesh gear shelf for storing smaller items like a headlamp, glasses, or phone. The triangular pocket is about 30.5 cm wide x 26.5 cm tall with a 38cm opening (12" x 10.5" x 15").
All zippers on the tent have been designed to allow the zippers sliders to easily be replaced in the field. Two replacement sliders are included with the tent. Zipper slider replacement instructions can be found here.
All tie outs feature LineLoc V adjusters and bright yellow Z-Line guylines, allowing you to lock in the perfect pitch. Tents featuring the Lite floors use 1.3mm Z-Line and tents featuring the Standard floors use our 2.0mm Z-Line.
All of our tents do pretty well in the wind. The material can handle high wind loads. As long as your stakes stay in the ground (use rocks if available) your tent will stay standing.
