The water-repellant fabric has a sun-reflecting finish with a 50+UPF coating, and because of the double-layered construction of the canopy, the chance for a blowout in high winds is greatly reduced. The vents on this Essential Umbrella overlap enough that they won't leak but provide an escape for wind.
