THETENTLAB The DirtSaw Deuce #2 Trowel - is a new updated and totally redesigned Deuce trowel. The DirtSaw Deuce is able to dig poop-holes faster, easier and more efficiently in rocky, rooty ground.
Thetentlab says: "It’s a total rethink of how to use a small hand tool to make a hole in the ground."
The DirtSaw® Deuce® #2 is still a crazy lightweight piece of gear. It weighs just 17g (.60oz), that’s barely over the weight of a tabelspoon of water – not even one decent swallow! Therefore is fantastically carry-able and, like all trowels, are essential tools for Leave No Trace hiking and camping.

FEATURES
- NEW Patent Pending evolutionary design
- Wide and smooth teeth are specifically designed for dirt, they agitate and cut dirt like a serrated knife without snagging on roots or without threatening to cut your hand.
- Two deep notches on the front edge protect recessed teeth that you can sharpen (even with a nail file) to slice tenacious roots. They’re protected so they can stay sharp and they’re far enough away from the front edge that they don’t threaten your hand when using the Deuce® upside down.
- Use the trowel handle-side down to probe the top 3 in. for rocks or roots—this is how you'll use the trowel about a third of the time.
- Ray-bends are another new evolution this year. They make the Deuce® 65% stronger against bending in the middle and almost 3x stronger at the hole. And the elliptical hole shape is stronger too. Ray bends are pretty cool looking and, lastly, they make it much harder to copy.
- Short handle allows the user to exert more force by pushing on the shoulders and top of the trowel at the same time (using it the regular way), it has vastly better dexterity in deeper holes than longer handled trowels. It’s what lets you actually use the Dirt- Saw® feature deep in your hole where longer tools succumb to ever-narrowing hole syndrome.
- Handle end is slightly flared so you can use the DirtSaw as a pull or push saw
- The blunt front shape is much better for pulling out loose dirt from deeper holes and makes a stronger tip for prying (when you’re not prying with the handle end).
- Handle ripples add friction and surface area for greater hand comfort.
- The size of the scoops are very useful for moving dirt quickly out of a hole (these are not micro-scoop trowels).
- Colorful anodized finish keeps it from corroding or rubbing off on your hand.
- Tumbled and fully de-burred for smooth, rounded edges
- Can be 100% recycled anywhere that accepts aluminum
- Manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty on this product
