Zpacks Arc Haul Ultra 40l backpack - is designed for long days on the trail, with ample space and durability for carrying essential gear. It is made from Ultra 100X material, known for being both ultralight and tough. The backpack features a roll-top closure to keep water out, adjustable shoulder straps, and a customizable belt. Its side pockets are specifically designed to fit water bottles or soft bladders, with elastic tops for a snug fit. Additionally, the pack includes a large mesh center pocket for easy access and drying wet clothes.
The Arc Haul Ultra’s frame uses Curved Carbon Fiber Air Stays combined with a Lycra back panel, creating a gap between the user’s back and the pack for airflow and comfort. This design helps keep the back cool while hiking and prevents gear from rubbing uncomfortably. The belt is securely attached to the bottom of the frame, allowing for effective weight transfer to the hips. The V-Style webbing on the belt lets users adjust it to wrap more securely around their hips, with load lifter straps to further enhance comfort and fit.
With a capacity of 40 liters, the backpack is suited for 3 to 4 days of food and ultralight gear. The side compression straps help reduce the pack's volume when less space is needed, while the top and base straps can be used to attach additional gear for longer hikes. The Arc Haul Ultra is also compatible with bear canisters, and the design allows it to fit inside an airplane overhead bin for the short and medium sizes, making it versatile for various adventures.
The backpack’s innovative design extends to the patented torso height adjustment system, allowing users to fine-tune the fit according to their height or share the pack with others. The construction includes durable stitching, a highly water-resistant exterior. Overall, the Arc Haul Ultra is built for endurance and comfort, making it suitable for demanding hikes and extended outdoor expeditions.

FEATURES
To measure your torso height, you will need the help of a friend and a string or cloth tape measure.
Most hikers wear their belt near the top of their hips, however, it isn’t uncommon for hikers to position their belt higher or lower.
To ensure you lock in the perfect fit, we suggest putting a belt on over your clothes in the spot where you’d like to belt to ride. Start your measurement at the center of the belt where it meets your spine.
Lower your chin towards your chest. This will cause the C7 vertebrae to protrude at the base of your neck. The C7 vertebrae will mark the top of your torso height measurement.
Using the string or cloth tape measure, follow the curve of your spine up from the center of your belt to your C7 vertebrae. This measurement is your torso height.

TORSO | CM | INCH |
SHORT | 41 - 48 | 16-19 |
MEDIUM | 48 - 58 | 19-23 |
TALL | 58 - 66 | 23-26 |
The padded portion of the belt is 1" shorter than the listed minimum adjustment. For example a "Medium (30-36 inches)" belt has padding which measures about 29" tip to tip, and has a minimum adjustment circumference of 30". It is the recommended size if your actual measurement is up to 36" however the webbing extends further.
To measure your belt size, pull a string or cloth tape measure tight around the spot you’d like your belt to ride. Choose a belt with a minimum adjustment of a couple inches smaller than your actual waist measurement. This will leave room for you to tighten down the belt if you lose a little weight on trail.
The belts on our Arc Series packs are also removable and interchangeable. This will give you the ability to switch the belt out if your waist size changes or if you order the incorrect size by mistake.
